The worst accident I ever seen was because of street racing, sure it is a crime.

Yes it is a crime, street racing can cause huge accidents. I, myself, have street raced in the past and going at 185MPH, no matter how good of a driver you are (I am an amateur racing driver), you can't control what drivers around you are doing so an accident is bound to happen. I was lucky to avoid an accident after a car pulled out of a driveway inadvertently. With that being said, I rather risk my own life on the race track and leave everyone else out of it.

yes, its really dangerous and could cause an accident no matter how experienced the driver is.

if you endanger others (read: non-racers), then it is a crime.
if you only endanger your fellow racers, then it is stupidity, to be punished with a burning car-wreck.

If you race over the speed limit then it's a crime but if you drive under the limit it's not crime, i don't think it's that horrible if you don't go above the limit.
