You mean like the fact that I'm totally 'in love’ with David Tennant? Or a secret love for 'that person on the train'? Or it could be the case where you are friends with somebody, love them, but don't truly know them yet?

In whatever case I don't think I've ever actually been properly in love. So I'll just have to answer no. *wipes tear*

people use the term 'in love' so loosely...

you can love or adore someone that you don't know but being 'in love' .. really requires a bit more I would think.

Oh my. No. This is the same concept as the idea of love at first sight. You can't be in love with someone if you do not know them. You can be in lust, or have an infatuation with them, but you cannot love them.

Of course, there is circumstances where you *think* you know someone very well and you have known them for a long time, but they turn out to lead this double life or something like that and how they act around you is not truly who they are.. like Dexter (haha), but that's only if you want to get all figurative and poetic about it. But all in all, you can't be in love with someone you don't know. It just doesn't work, it's not actual love.

If so, then what the hell does love even mean anymore? You can be in lust for someone you don't know, but you cannot not love them. Strictly my opinion.

I've been infatuated, not real love. And I don't mean as in with a celebrity, but just with someone who you've only met a few times or something.

Yes. Because even if you spend half of your day with that person, doesn't mean you really know him/her.
And besides, love at first sight kind of exists... I've only loved once, for years, and it happen just with one date, we weren't even real friends, we've just had met and... well, it happened. And even now I can't say I really know him
