1,478 posts	hmm, i kind of feel bad if i dont. but i was thinking the other day actually about how everyone has to earn their own money to make a living, if it wasnt for people looking for a job in the first place, everyone would be homeless. so even though i feel slightly bad, i still think that they should try and make their own money, instead of begging for other peoples.

397 posts	sometimes, when i was still in the philippines, but most of the time it's food that i give homeless people here in the US don't ask for money..i think? i never met one [homeless asking for money]

9,546 posts	nope, 99% of the homeless/street people here tell the same lie to try and get money and never put it to good use; I offer to buy food for them but that of course never gets taken because all they want is booze

453 posts	No, I never do. I'd offer food to them, but I feel that giving money to them isn't wise, they'll end up spending it on something like drugs or alcohol perhaps. It does make me feel really guilty, I realise some people are homeless and on the street by intention and their own mistakes, but there are some that really don't deserve to be.

242 posts	No I don't. It's too bad cause some people are actually homeless, but so many of them just want money for drugs/alcohol that they ruin it for the rest of them. Anyway, I've never given money to a homeless person, but I've been with friends who have. I'm never the first one to pull out some change, I have to admit.

358 posts	I've never actually been asked for money by a homeless person. Though I suppose if I had a few dollars to spare I'd share 'em - that's what I do with the charity buckets I see around.

212 posts	I do, on occasion, but usually I just ignore them even though I feel bad. There's a few reasons for that: 1. If you give to one, they all follow and beg 2. All money is precious! (selfish, but still) 3. I don't feel comfortable stopping and talking to strangers, even for a second. Especially if I need to open my purse. It's just not safe, not even when there's people around.
