yes actually... my grandmother died when i was very young and I don't have any memories of what she looks like, but certain smells bring me back to when I was about 4 and being in her house and smelling her cooking...

They really do, it can be quite 'freaky' when I smell something and a memory hits me if I haven't thought about it for a long time or had supposedly completely forgotten.

Absolutely, they're really random too, not smells that I know from food, they just randomly appear. It's amazing what it reminds you of.

From food... huurr, I meant from food/houses/cars/places/people, smells that are familiar from everywhere, eg. burnt matches, petrol, banana, whatever. These smells don't come from familiar foods/houses/cars/places/people.

Absolutely! One of the best feelings - to get a whiff of something and have if fill you with long-lost memories

Unless of course they're smells you'd rather forget - I don't find that happening as often though.

yeah. a perfume I have at home reminds me of a specific day. it's pretty weird. and it wasn't a nice day.

Yeah sometimes it happens only if it's a smell I don't smell everyday, like some brands of soap remind me of my nana.

Yes, when i walk into staples it smells like my old elementary school and it reminds me of a lot of things about when i was at cusack...

And also the smell of marijuana smoke reminds me of what I used to do, not too proud of myself for it considering i was only in grade 7 =\

And when i smell some foods i remember things, kind of like deja vu where i'm all like woah! where did i smell that before?! or where did i see that before?!

They don't bring about specific memories of events or anything, but smells on occasion can remind of someone/something

every time i go into a forest or heavily wooded area, i'm reminded of camping and school field trips haha
and also when i go into someones house that i haven't been in in a while, memories come back=]

Smells remind me of things all the time. One time I was at home and my mom had sprayed some some kind of aerosol in the car and it smelled exactly like my aunts house.

definitely...the smell of irish springs soap still reminds me of when i used to spend the night at my grandma's and she'd wash my face with that soap and a washcloth.
