| No, cause I'm sure some people act overdramatic or do stupid things so they'll be "remembered" for being on the show or whatever. | 05-01-2008 00:10 TheAnnoyance |

| No. They're very heavily mediated - I bet they all sleep and mooch about for half the day, then the programme producers take any highlights to shove together.
Does pose an interesting question about them being rigged though. That's definitely something I've wondered about... | 05-01-2008 00:18 itsLauren |

And yes and no... ultimately, I voted no. Although they are reality shows, they're never gonna truly show a person for who they are - not only are the 'stars' aware that they're being viewed by millions of people who can decide their future (therefore acting out), but the producers CHOOSE what they want the audience to see.
You could have the nicest guy in the world in there, but if the producers choose to they could just show clips of him constantly sunbathing or eating to make him out as boring...
... I like reality TV - it's a sin, I know - but 9 times out of 10 the producers know whose won it before to series even starts... | 05-01-2008 00:50 widadita |

Like in the show Made, they are told to cry and have a fit because it's supposed to make it better. They seriously do that. | 05-01-2008 01:02 rotciv_00 |

| of course not... i mean, who acts normally with a camera in your face and knowing that millions are staring at you? | 05-01-2008 01:15 rough_rider2k4 |

I think it's how the second poster put it [I didn't look at the name].
People on reality shows want fame. And they'll do anything to get it.
The one I hear most about is Brooke from The Real World: Denver.

| They're bad actors.
Once I saw a girl in one of those shows making a lot of mess in the house, just because she was upset with a guy due to something he had told her... What he had said wasn't even something serious, it was a silly thing. Then she took some of this guy's belongings and threw them to the pool! Then she messed up all his clothes and everything in his room! So, after I saw this scene, I though that no one would do this knowing that they're being filmed and shown to millions of people... Then I got sure that they're all a bunch of bad actors! | 05-01-2008 02:23 Aluna |

| Oh, and I forgot to say: the public chose her to leave the house a few days after she had done this. And it was right in the beginning of the show! Would she normally run the risk of losing the opportunity of earning 500 thousand dollars by doing that stupid thing? I don't think so! | 05-01-2008 02:41 zjenn4 |

| Absolutey, because it is obvious that all of the events in reality shows are 100% real and the truth. Are you trying to say that although it says reality shows, the events that take place could still be "staged"? I thought everything that happened on tv was real, you mean it isn't?!
* offtopic : And for those who need to be told flat out, I am joking! I voted NO.

| The only real reality TV is filming unsuspecting people, but that's illegal I'm sure, you have to have all the written permission or some crap, point is, I doubt real reality TV has ever or will ever exist. | 05-01-2008 05:01 alexerica | 148 posts
| NO. everybody acts different in front of a camera and people watching, wheather they will admit or not, they do. also, producers edit a lot. |
