| no, not really, but if their parents are willing to help out A LOT then maybe if they are really responsible and mature so if they're 17 or younger i vote NO!!! | 01-11-2007 00:04 TheAnnoyance |

| If they can, then why the heck not? It's their business because frankly, there are teenagers who are financially stable with good heads on their shoulders. | 01-11-2007 00:19 psht | 448 posts
| Um, no....just no. Nobody in their teens IS mentally ready for bringi up a child. Plus, why the hell would somebody that young want to? I mean, seriously, that would totally destroy your entire social life. | 01-11-2007 00:23 Cheater138 |

| where i grew up most pregnant teens wound up dropping out of school and working fast food to barely take care of the kid. i say good for the ones who can do it, though i've not seen many. | 01-11-2007 00:27 xcr4zyx |

| Thats the thing with stats, they mean NOTHING because who is the "average" teen anyways? I just hate when people go all "oh my youre 17 and having a kid?!" not even bothering to think for a minute, hey maybe they CAN take care of that child. No on could possibly meet all these teenage parents and dictate whether they should have or not have a baby.
Obviously I have way too many opinions so Ill shut up now. | 01-11-2007 00:35 Rawrr_ | 493 posts
| No, because I don't think any teenager is ready/able to accept the responsibilities that come with it. | 01-11-2007 00:53 ZzZzZzZ |

| Is it ok?
Who am I to say if it's ok ot not?
I think that as a teenager you still have lots of thing to learn in life and that you are probably to young to get involved in such a commitment. I think you should enjoy being young and free while you can.
But at the same time, if you want children, if you feel ready, if you think you can do it and give the child everything he needs, then why not? It's your life after all... you still have to be carefull though, it'll be unfair for your children to pay the price of your mistakes. | 01-11-2007 00:54 bad1 | 390 posts
| i cant even believe so many people said yes!!! teenagers are just grown up kids. how is a 16 year old mentally old enough to make smart decisions and know how to raise childern properly, never mind afford to have children. | 01-11-2007 01:03 Dredg935 |

| Yes, only if they're 18 or 19 and are financially stable, and are ready for children. | 01-11-2007 01:03 R_K_O |

| it really depends
some teenagers would already like to have children
but me personally, as a teenager
I dont want children yet | 01-11-2007 01:16 Michelle7865 | 123 posts
| No I don't think they should. I know 2 teen mothers.. 1 had the baby when she was 17 & she is a very good mother. Even the baby's father helps care for the baby. My other friend just had a baby (she's 18). She is not ready to be a mother because she only cares about partying & she's just happy she can drink again now that she's not pregnant...
It really depends on the type of person you are & maturity level but overall I don't think any teenagers should be having kids. | 01-11-2007 01:16 switchfoot12 | 446 posts
| maybe in the past a someone that was 18 or 19 could have a kid and raise that child up wihtout any hardships...but today think about it there are not many jobs you can get with only a high school degree and if you have a child during or before college there is a bad chance that you will make it through thus making it very difficult to raise a child properly | 01-11-2007 01:35 KateKateKate |

| I think the question is why would you want to in the first place...fact of the matter is most of the time these kids are accidents. There's no way these teenagers could be prepared to raise something they didn't want/plan in the first place. It'd be hard, not impossible, but I can't say I approve of it. | 01-11-2007 01:38 AcousticMe24 |

| my mom was 18 when she got me .. and my parents wanted to have children. And I grew up very well. It's not that I didn't have a father who could support a family .. okay, he was 25. It was great to have a mom that was pretty young. I could always relate to my parents very well and still do. So yeah, 18 is not too young at all.
Nowadays there are people who have their first child when they are over 35 ... that is creepy. | 01-11-2007 02:14 chickee105 | 226 posts
| Uummmm.... no. Most people aren't ready for kids at 20, let alone anything younger than that. |
