a planet because it's been considered one for so long. who cares if there are other things out there that are made of the same things just smaller. it's not gonna hurt anyone if it stays a planet...and common planetiod? why can't they just say dwarf planet?

I still think of it as a planet, I don't know why they felt it was necessary to change it.

If it's a planet, so is its "moon" and a whole lot of other objects. So there's either 8 planets or a whole bunch. the idea of there being 9 planets has been proven wrong.

umm well since the lastest science proves that its not a planet i guess its really not...things change as we get more advanced technology for all you people that use oh its been a planet for so long....if people used that idea the earth would be flat and the center of the universe

duh! Dogs chose to be obedient because they know that they get rewarded afterwards. If you hit a dog, the dog will normally get mad at you.

Does it have the correct characteristics to be classified as a planet? If no, then no, it shouldn't be. I really...don't care though. There are rules for being a planet, think of it as a club. You have to be able to do this shit, look like this, and have that to join Club Planet. If you are unable to qualify, you can go chill at the less cool Club Planetoid...or whatever it was.

A planetoid, in laymen's terms, is an object larger than an asteroid but smaller than a planet.

My question is, do planetoids follow the same rule as meteoroids? If a planetoid crashes down to earth, does it become a planetite? Is it a full-fledged planet as it's burning through the atmosphere? And for that matter, if a meteor hits an airplane and lands in the cabin, does it maintain "meteor" status forever, or until the plane lands, or does it become a meteorite as soon as it stops moving?

of course it has to be a planetoid. It does not have the characteristics of a planet, then it should not be considered as a planet. We spent years thinkin that the earth was flat right? and we did change our way of thinkin to accept the facts as they are, so it's the same here. We have new knowledge, our understanding is much better that it was few years ago... so then we need to move on

planetoid. Just becuase other people think it's true, doesn't mean it is.

"The world is flat." No, science rules all, even if I rather have Pluto still be a planet, it should be considered a planetoid.
