26,350 posts	James, that's sad. I think it's right, it could save people's lives, it's not like they are killing innocent humans, they are already dead, what else good comes from them being dead? Nothing, so why not use them to help others?

218 posts	Stem cell research is using the cells of unborn children for medical purposes. I understand that it could save lives and even find an all out cure for cancer and other potentials, but it still is causing the death on one who has never known Life, and never will. I just feel that it is wrong, but letting someone die when they could have been saved is just as wrong... I don't know where I stand on this one. Death for Life, Life for Death....

1,648 posts	Yes, and it can be very useful. I read that scientists have found out a way of experimenting with embryos' stem-cells without killing the embryos, so how could it be possibly ethically wrong???

1,648 posts	Ah, aborted fetus. Yes, I agree with you. There's no way of it being a bad thing... I mean, only if people don't decide to abort for that purpose.. But if legal abortion has some prerequisites, I mean if it's legal only in some cases, it's ok.

227 posts	it's about making copies of oneself right? gene stuffs right..the dna and the rna..hmn..for me..i really dont know..i have great faith in science..but if for example they'll make a copy of me..hell no! haha! that's really bad..hehe..it's okie to clone organs..for transplants somethin like that..but it's wrong to make a whole person

257 posts	yes...from what i know about it, i think it's ok...i read up on this topic and did not find anything that says that babies or anyone are killed in order to do this...it is somewhat unethical to take cells from aborted fetuses, but if it is already dead then i dont really see a problem

2 posts	I've done so much research for this. While yes it may find possible cures for dieses, it may not. The main way in which stem cell research is being conducted is by aborted fetuses. Which means that abortions are beign preformed... now its all a matter of personal morals, but come on.. killing something innocient with no change to defend itself??? There is, however, another way in which you can conduct stem cell research, which is by using the stem cells from a new born childs embilical (sp?) cord. As of right now, there is absolutely no evidence that stem cell research has come up with anything that has worked. As of right now, nothing positive has come out of the research. Just some facts.... its all up your morals tho...

40 posts	I'm against abortion. But people are still going to do it no matter what, I don't think it'll ever be completely illegal everywhere. If you're going to KILL a harmless child, why not have something GOOD come from that? I don't know...I agree with stem cell research because to me it sort of seems like a way for that child to still have a part in life.

7 posts	Um, xlafeatx there is no proof that it can do anything; let alone cure cancer, so if they're spending all this time researching it, why don't they open up to new possibilities and research other options, and maybe come up with a way to do the same things without using controversial methods?

102 posts	'Joober'... you're against abortions? if say tomorrow (god forbid) you were raped by a 50 year old homeless junkie & he impregnated you.. would you still be against abortion? or would you be able to one day tell your child who it's father was? anywho, i'm for stem cell experimentation.
