13,961 posts	Well, I don't know the scientific reason or whatever.. but don't all birds have wings? Even penguins who don't fly either. But anyways, if a chicken had no wings or anything, how would they keep their balance? And if they fell over, they'd be stuck without wings. They can flap their wings and jump and it gives them the ability to get around if they need to be fast about it or whatnot.

24 posts	millions of years ago they could fly... evolution made their wings decrease in size when they didn't need to fly anymore, so now they can't fly. sounds logical, doesn't it?

There are a lot of silly questions I personally don't care about, but everyone likes different things. I personally find animals interesting and this question isn't any more stupid than some of the other we've had. Just because you think it's stupid, doesn't mean it shouldn't be a question in the first place. Simply don't answer.
